The Gospel of Mark | Mark 12:33 (TNIV)
I've been pondering this scripture for the last several days - what it means, how it applies to me, how I should change my attitudes, behaviors and relationships with God and others.
These two commandments are more difficult than a burnt offering. In a sense, when we try to live this way, our lives become burnt offerings - wholly and acceptable to God when we realize that the only way we can do this is to follow Jesus's example and accept his forgiveness, grace, and sacrifice.
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands"
Isaiah 49:15-16

A full day.
Thanking my son, Dylan, for introducing this song to me today!
Imagine me
Loving what I see when the mirror looks at me cause I
I imagine me
In a place of no insecurities
And I'm finally happy cause
I imagine me
An email dated March 10, 2005 describing and quoting my then 10 year old son
Getting into the car with flower for me in hand, "It's hard not to love your mother."
1 Corinthians 13 (The Message) 1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. 2If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. 3-7If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love. Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
